Jerusalem 04:02
JERUSALEM In the sweet gold embrace of the sunset... I lay me down with a bottle of wine. Suddenly I hear music drawing near A caravan appears over the rise... The caravan is a line of dancing camels They're all wearing Armani and all sorts of fancy things In the bright sunshine they make a conga line Doin' the serpentine they start to sing: "All my hard times done All my troubles cease When we reach Jerusalem Reality will finally be a cause for celebration" Hypnotized by the sight of this procession I found myself wanting only to belong One of them hands me a drum he says "hit this on the one" I felt the groove I had to sing the song....

THE KING OF FRANCE Last night I met the King of France Walking through the halls of Versailles Of his sad fate... his tale of woe my friend... I will now testify... It was my first night on the job Guarding the royal estate I heard a noise from down the hall I moved in to investigate My hands slick with sweat my heart pumping fear I walked into the Hall of Mirrors And floating high above the ground I saw a ghost wearing a crown In flowing robes with his fists clenched He was kicking the air and cursing in French As he floated high above my head That ghostly figure looked down and said: "I should be I should be up in heaven I should be putting on my wings Not sitting here year after year All alone remembering Versailles when I was king..." My tongue was tied my knees were weak I tried to run I couldn't speak And then the king declared to me - "To you - this is all just history... But it's real to me this was home you see Where I made sweet love to my sweet Marie Here I ruled the world in days gone by Now I walk these halls and cry for my Versailles" CHORUS He brushed a teardrop from his eye Said "forgive me if I cry - But all my friends are long dead and gone Once they threw roses at my feet they cried 'Louis - c'est magnifique!' Now no one here remembers me at all... CHORUS

Red River 03:54
RED RIVER Came a message from my brother On the eastbound stage today He said "I fear the Apache ride this way" So I saddled up my horse And I polished up my gun And I followed the Red River home... Red River Red water Red blood upon my hands I saw red and I shot him dead Red River so clear here in the noonday sun Help me forget what I done Through the tall prairie grass Through the valley I did ride My brother's words repeating in my mind And in my mind I heard him cry out Shot by an Indian brave And I swore then the red man would pay (CHORUS) I arrived with the dawn and the air smelt of smoke And I feared I'd returned home too late... Then I heard a noise behind me Without thinking I turned and fired And I saw my own brother's eyes Heard my own brother cry... why? (CHORUS)

COME BACK LITTLE SHEBA "I am yours," the waiter said. "Whatever you need ask for Achmed." I never did like Egyptian food And I didn't like the way that he was looking at you And when you went back to leave the tip I could read old Achmed's lips - he said "Come Back Little Sheba Let's get together me and you I'll leave my back door open We close up around quarter to two" I got mad we had a fight I called him names you said he was nice And then you said "honey I forgot I left my purse back at the restaurant." Well come on tell me the truth I know what Achmed said to you CHORUS I woke up all alone Made a cup of coffee I ate a frozen waffle Imagined you and Achmed Eating your breakfast in bed A little bit of falafel Some hummus and pita Oh you bad girl Sheba! CHORUS

YOU BETTER DRIVE My guitar amp that lava lamp Everything else belongs to her Let's pack up the car find us a bar You pick your poison but the drinks are on me Seeing you again it's like old times my friend Remember the fun we had back then We'd wander never wonder We'd never ever worry... Hey what do you say we hit the highway? Atlantic City's just two hours away And I wanna spin that roulette wheel Yeah it's a stupid bet But that's the way I feel We'll wander we'll wander no I don't have to call her tonight Yeah that's a change feels kinda strange But it's all right Pass the bottle down Yeah I ain't gonna drown Man it's still early And we're surely gonna have some fun Friend you and me we ain't done... Hey man - wake up! The sun's coming up. No I don't know where we are... Some parking lot the sign says 'Phillips 66' Guess we're way out in the sticks I think I'm gonna be sick I wonder I wonder what kind of curse I'm under Roll down your window I need some fresh air Well... at least I'm still alive! But maybe... You Better Drive.
